Letter to Benefactors

June 1, 2006

Dear Partner:

Please accept this invitation to partner with Timeless Tracks, Inc. in an effort to promote and enhance the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway. Timeless Tracks, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation based in Evanston, Wyoming. The Mirror Lake Scenic Byway is an 80 mile scenic byway along Highway 150 in Wyoming and Utah. The community of Evanston, WY is the northern terminus of the byway. The community of Kamas, UT is the southern terminus of the byway. The byway passes through the Uinta Mountains of northeastern Utah.

The purposes of Timeless Tracks, Inc. are to promote educational opportunities related to the interpretation of byway resources; to manage and preserve the resources of the byway; to encourage recreation and tourism; and to develop broad public support of the scenic byway. Primary byway resources include historic, cultural, natural, scenic, and recreational resources.

Timeless Tracks, Inc. in partnership with the City of Evanston, the Wyoming Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration, coordinated the installation of two interpretive kiosk sites south of Evanston. Each kiosk offers eight different educational panels which interpret resources of the byway. Timeless Tracks, Inc. has also produced audio cd’s and a brochure describing byway resources.

Timeless Tracks, Inc. is planning for the construction of a new visitor’s center south of Evanston. The visitor’s center is proposed to offer educational displays and interactive exhibits, classroom and meeting space, tourist information, and other amenities. The center will be a reconstruction of the Plainview School which was once an educational landmark south of Evanston. Future objectives include developing an educational curriculum with Uinta County School District #1 focusing on the interpretation of byway resources; adding other interpretive sites; expanding recreational opportunities; and promoting tours of the byway.

We hope that you might be interested in partnering with us in our efforts. There are many ways to partner such as serving as a volunteer on the board of directors or a sub-committee of Timeless Tracks, Inc.; helping to record an oral history of the byway from adjacent landowners; assisting in the maintenance of the interpretive kiosk sites; providing volunteer labor and equipment for designated byway projects; displaying byway brochures, cd’s, and tapes if you have a place of business; and contributing as a benefactor.

If you decide to participate as a benefactor, please know that there are five contribution categories that you might consider. Each contribution category has a designated gift that will be given to the benefactor.
